Hyrox® Tenerife 2026 takes place from 4 to 6 September 2026 at the Recinto Ferial de Tenerife. It is the race that opens the Hyrox® 26/27 season in Spain, right after the summer, so it is a good chance to make your debut if you have trained through the warmer months. Here is what you will find, how to prepare and where to train the stations on the island.

What Hyrox® is

Hyrox® is a standardised event: 8 kilometres of running split into eight 1 km legs, with a functional station between each leg. The course is identical at every venue, so you can train exactly what you will do on race day. The eight stations, in order: SkiErg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carry, sandbag lunges and wall balls. You compete in singles, doubles or relay, and in the open or Pro division.

Date and venue

As the first race of the season on Spanish soil, it tends to draw both first-timers and athletes keen to start logging times early.

How to prepare

With 8 to 12 weeks of structured training you will arrive ready to complete your first event. Since Tenerife is in September, the summer is your preparation window. Work on three things at once:

You have the full week-by-week plan in how to prepare for your first Hyrox®, specific sessions in Hyrox® station WODs and the recommended kit in what clothing and shoes you need.

Where to train Hyrox® in Tenerife

Not every gym has sleds, a SkiErg or sandbags. To train the stations with real equipment without taking out a membership, book a drop-in at boxes on the island that have it, paying by session only. Look for venues in the Hyrox® category or the CrossFit® category, filter by Tenerife and check the equipment before booking. If you have never booked a one-off class, start with what a drop-in is and how it works.

Would you rather see the whole national calendar? You will find it in the Hyrox® Spain 2026-2027 calendar.
