Hyrox® — Boxes & drop-in
Hyrox® is a fitness race that combines running with functional workout stations in a format that’s identical all over the world. Whether you want to train for it or compete, Global Wod Pass helps you find boxes with Hyrox® training and book your drop-in from €10, with no membership and no contract, in whichever city you choose.
What Hyrox® is and how the format works
Hyrox® is a functional endurance race with a fixed format: 8 kilometres of running split into eight 1 km segments, with a functional workout station after every kilometre. Eight stations in total: SkiErg, sled push and sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmer’s carry, sandbag lunges and wall balls. You finish when you’ve completed all 8 km and all 8 stations.
What makes Hyrox® special is precisely that standardisation: the course is the same in Madrid, Berlin or New York, so you can compare your time with any athlete on the planet. It’s raced in individual categories (Open and Pro), in pairs (Doubles) and in relays, so it suits both first-timers chasing a new challenge and seasoned athletes chasing a time.
How to train for Hyrox® and what to expect
Preparing for Hyrox® in any country means combining two things: aerobic capacity to run and strength-endurance to hold up through the stations under fatigue. The real differentiator is the “compromise” between running and working under load once your legs are already burning. That’s why many boxes program dedicated sessions that replicate the format: running blocks interspersed with sled work, wall balls or rowing.
In a Hyrox® training class you’ll work intervals, station technique and running pace. A coach adjusts loads and distances to your level, so you can start even if you’ve never competed. Bring breathable gear, shoes with solid grip, a towel and water.
Book your Hyrox® drop-in
